The film stars Vidya Balan essaying the role of real-life writer and mental calculator, Shakuntala Devi. Her talent earned her a place in the 1982 edition of The Guinness Book of World Records and brought laurels not only for herself but to the country. The actress has been prepping hard to get into the skin of the famous mathematician.

Shakuntala Devi-Human Computer also stars Amit Sadh, Sanya Malhotra and Jisshu Sengupta in pivotal roles. Sanya Malhotra will be playing Vidya's daughter's role, Amit Sadh will be seen as her son-in-law. Jisshu Sengupta will essay Vidya's husband's role. The movie is directed and written by Anu Menon and produced by Sony Pictures Networks India and Vikram Malhotra under his banner Abundantia Entertainment. The shoot of the film was wrapped up on 20 November 2019. The shooting of the film began in September this year and is slated to release on 8th May 2020.
