Akshay Kumar's 'Mission Mangal' records the 12th highest advance of all time
Director Jagan Shakti's 'Mission Mangal' has released at the box office today. The film which features an ensemble cast of Akshay Kumar, Vidya Balan, Taapsee Pannu, Sonakshi Sinha, Nitya Menen, Kriti Kulhari and Sharman Joshi has been well received by the critics. It traces the story of scientists at the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), who contributed to the Mars Orbiter Mission (MOM).
As the lastest report of BoxofficeIndia, the film has recorded the 12th highest advance of all time with pre-releases collections of Rs. 15 crore nett plus. That's a pretty good start! It has also beat Akshay's last Independence release 'Gold' by 15-20%.
The overall advance is 35% less than Bharat which is the top Hindi film the year. However, the difference in multiplexes was just 25% while there was a bigger difference in single screens. After Bharat, the third-best film of this year was 'Kabir Singh' which recorded an advance of around 11 crore nett. Meanwhile, the other release for the day 'Batla House' has an advance collection of Rs. 4.75 crore nett.
