Akshay Kumar's Digital Debut, 'The End' Will Go On Floor By The Second Half Of 2021
Last year, in March superstar Akshay Kumar, had announced his entry into the digital world with Amazon Prime Video's The End. At the show launch in March 2019, Akshay was seen setting himself on fire as part of the stunts organised for the evening. The head of Amazon Studios, Jennifer Salke had expressed that she is super excited about the series. She was quoted saying, "The scale at which The End is being conceived is enormous. The storyline and the action sequences have been brilliantly crafted."
The series which is one the biggest projects of the streaming giant in India was supposed to go on floors in 2020, However, due to pandemic, the shoot of the series has been deferred by 7 months.
According to a report by MidDay, producer Vikram Malhotra of Abundantia Entertainment said-
"The show was to roll in December tentatively, with Akshay joining us in January 2021. But, it has been four months [into the lockdown], and it will be a few more months before normalcy is restored. Akshay, too, has other commitments. So, we are hoping to get into production by the second half of 2021."
He further added that-
It isn't a project that we, as makers, can tweak and start [shooting] next month. We've used the time to improve the material." While the show was to be filmed in India and key locations abroad, he admits that the venues can only be finalised "after the situation stabilises.
I sure can't wait to see Akshay Kumar kill it and own the digital screens with 'The End'.
