After Brahmastra, Dharma Productions and Star Studios' next collaboration Selfiee is yet another winner

Speaking of Brahmastra, the Ayan Mukerji directorial became a game changer when it comes to VFX in Hindi cinema. On top of everything, it was Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt's first on-screen collaboration. A similar kind of pattern can be seen followed in Selfiee too as two of the most loved actors from the Hindi film industry, Akshay Kumar and Emraan Hashmi, are sharing the screen space for the first time.
Besides this, Prithviraj Sukumaran is also associated with the project, which eventually adds to the credibility of the remake. For the unversed, Selfiee is a remake of the 2019 release, Driving Licence, a Malyalam-language film.
Coming to the director of the film, Raj Mehta's track record has been quite impressive, given that all three of his directorial projects, Jug Jugg Jeeyo, Ajeeb Daastaans (Khilona segment) and Good Newwz, were lauded by the audience as well as the critics. While Good Newwz was released before the pandemic happened and Ajeeb Daastaans premiered on OTT, Jug Jugg Jeeyo did decent business when Ranveer Singh's Jayeshbhai Jordaar and Shahid Kapoor starrer Jersey struggled to cross the Rs 25 crore mark.
Given the above aspects of Selfiee, it forthcoming action-comedy will be a sure-shot winner. The Akshay Kumar and Emraan Hashmi starrer is slated to release on February 24.
