Saand Ki Aankh Womaniya: Taapsee and Bhumi Pednekar celebrate women in sassy new song
The second song of Saand Ki Aankh titled Womaniya is out now. It features the younger version of Chandro Tomar and Prakashi Tomar.
Just four days after releasing the first song, Udta Teetar from Saand Ki Aankh, the makers have now unveiled its second track, titled Womaniya. While its name may take many of us back to Anurag Kashyap's Gangs Of Wasseypur, which featured a song titled O Womaniya, Saand Ki Aankh's track has a lot more to offer to women.
So much so that it gave Taapsee Pannu "goosebumps" when she heard it for the first time. No, we aren't saying this, the actress herself revealed so on social media. Taapsee, who is essaying the role of Chandro Tomar in Saand Ki Aankh, took to Twitter to share the video of the song.
The song Womaniya begins with a dialogue between Taapsee and Bhumi Pednekar, who is playing her sister-in-law, Prakashi Tomar, in the film. Taapsee's character is enjoying hookah and Bhumi can be seen lying on a charpoy and playing with marbles.
In its first scene, Bhumi says, "In mardon ko ek hi toh kaam aawe, sarkaar uspe bhi pabandi laga degi, toh ve karenge kae?" Taapsee replies, "Main toh kahun jiji, saari umar chalni chahiye nasbandi, kam se kam, hum saans toh apni marji se le rahe hain. Halka-halka sa lagraya hai aaj."
And the next scene gives us a swag entry of Taapsee and Bhumi on the tractor, donning sunglasses and ghagras. The song features the younger version of both the characters, unlike their sexagenarian roles in the film.
Taapsee and Bhumi can be seen twirling in their ghagras to the matching beats, as they groove together to the song. With the 3-minute-54-second song Womaniya, both the actresses pay the perfect tribute to womanhood.
